Presents an anthology of sources and documents (Ravenna, Soprintendenza per i beni ambientali e architettonici di Ravenna; 1944-1950) on the post-war restoration of the Tempio Malatestiano (architect: Leon Battista Alberti), Rimini. The reports transcribed here describe the removal and restoration of the external wall facing and interior marble work, the reconstruction of the apse, and modern additions such as new altars and pavements. The documents also reveal information acquired by the conservators on the materials and technique of the 15th-c. architecture, the use of spolia, etc.
