Résumé (en)

Discusses (from papal inventories, 1295-1314) the presence of embroidered English altar cloths and paraments in the papal treasury. Analyzes extant 13th-14th-c. pluvials in Opus Anglicanum (various Italian collections) and concludes that their identification with paraments cited in the documents is difficult to establish. Also surveys the collecting of Opus Anglicanum by earlier 13th-c. popes (i.e., Innocent IV, Urban IV, Alexander IV, Gregory X, Nicholas III and Nicholas IV). Includes transcriptions of documents.
