Abstract (en)

Deduces the medieval structure of the village from maps, aerial photographs and fieldwork, and reports on results of excavations on the raised areas in Orchard Field. A series of buildings shows that the site was inhabited continuously from the late 11th/12th c. to ca.1700, and from 1742 on. Artefactual finds include pottery, glass, metal, bone, coins and a trade token, brick and tile, and clay pipes.
