Abstract (en)

Surveys the architectural history of Westwood House, a prodigy house of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods. Considers the question of whether the building was originally built as a lodge or as a principal mansion house of an estate. Suggests that the building, started in the late 1590s, was substantially complete by ca. 1620.
