Discusses the work of the Washington-based, non-profit organization, the Friends of Florence. With members drawn from the United States, Great Britain and Australia, the organization funds conservation and restoration projects in Florence and Tuscany. Their successes to date include the restoration of the sculptures in the Loggia dei Lanzi, diagnostic testing on Michelangelo's David, and the restoration of a series of altarpieces in the Galleria dell'Accademia. Also discusses the Friends' "wish list" of future projects.
