Abstract (en)

Compares two theories for the relationship between site and project in urban landscape architecture, which the author refers to as "sub-urbanism" and "super-urbanism." Compares the writings of Robert Smithson and Rem Koolhaas on Frederick Law Olmsted's design for Central Park, New York, and contrasts Koolhaas's and Alexandre Chemetoff's projects for Parc de la Villette, Paris.
