Presents an extract from the autobiography of Tom Lethbridge, Honorary Keeper of Anglo-Saxon antiquities in the Museum of Archaeology and Archaeology, University of Cambridge, in which he recounts his involvement in establishing the facts about the discovery (1946) of the magnificent hoard of late Roman silver.
