Abstract (en)

Collects together extracts referring to English prints found in two 18th-c. French journals, the Catalogue Hebdomadaire (later renamed the Journal de la librairie), a trade weekly, and the Mercure de France, a leading literary journal. Comments on these references to previously unnoted prints, and examines more broadly the history of the use of and interest in English prints in Paris during the 18th c.
