Discusses single sheet woodcuts, mostly with religious imagery (including saints) and of a devotional nature, produced in Italy during the 15th c. Considers aspects of private and public display, especially with respect to the concept of embellishment and the use of woodcuts for temporary decoration during religious ceremonies.
