Abstract (en)

Review of the exhibition Gothic: art for England 1400-1547 (London, Victoria and Albert Museum, to 18 Jan 2004), which included paintings, tapestries, stained glass, armor, alabaster, jewelry, books and manuscripts, and woodcarving and other forms of sculpture. Patronage and political, social, and religious history were emphasized. The accompanying catalogue is also discussed.
