Discusses Philip Trusttum's paintings, transferred to video for a multi-media solo performance of Mussorgsky's piano piece Pictures at an exhibition (Christchurch, Town Hall, 31 May 2003), focusing on their imagery of Russian folk culture. Also comments on the influence of artist and architect Viktor Hartmann on Mussorgsky's music.
