Summarizes the career of Kurt Schwitters, exploring his conceptual play with the "Merz" concept and his assemblages Merzbau (Hannover, 1923-1937; destroyed 1943) and Haus am Bakken (Norway, 1937-1940; destroyed 1951) on the occasion of the exhibition Kurt Schwitters: collages, dipinti e sculture 1914-1947 (Milan, Padiglione d'arte contemporanea, 25 Oct 2001-27 Jan 2002) of ca.150 works by the artist from various European collections.
