Abstract (en)
Provides a curator's introduction to the Farsites exhibition (San Diego Museum of Art; Tijuana, Centro Cultural, 27 Aug-13 Nov 2005), which represents the museum component (complementing Bypass, the "interventions" component of informal, unprogrammed urban material) of a larger collaborative project of inSite 05. Works of art in Farsites and the related project components explore various types of crises affecting the urban public, focusing on the San Diego-Tijuana border region. A group of curators also engaged in documentary research projects about New York City, São Paolo, Mexico City, Caracas, and Buenos Aires.
