Abstract
(en)
Interprets some of the art in the Farsites exhibition as evidence of the complex (and in many ways unsuccessful) attempts to modernize Latin America through various forms of homogenizing political, social, and economic changes. Focuses on works which mock, critique, and expose the problematic and sometimes false notions of utopianism and progress in cities such as Brasilia and Mexico City.
