Introduces and interviews the British-born Canadian architectural and natural landscape photographer. Discusses his admiration for Eugène Atget, composition, intentions, sources, and cities he has photographed. James's recent series have addressed (often unfavorable and arguably destructive) changes in Paris and Lethbridge (Alberta), indicating his continued preoccupations with utopianism and loss.
