Abstract
(en)
Proffers the consistency between Nolde's life and work, his use and theory of color to express emotion, the expressionist approach to the representation of faces and facial features, and the legendary, mythical, and natural qualities of his painting as the grounds for Berg's idolization of the older artist. Describes Berg's personal style, and compares Berg's early paintings (1930-1935) to Nolde's works.
