Abstract (en)
Approaches the style of the Benedictine abbey at Hirsau as the first instance of a German architectural school of thought, highlighting the influence of French architecture on the previously Italian-dominated style of German religious architecture. Discusses the influence of the Hirsauer school on other German churches, focusing on S. Ägidius in Kleincomburg and the abbey church in Paulinzella.
