Abstract (en)
Reconstructs the interiors at Leighton Hall (Wales), which was built for the Liverpool banker and art collector John Naylor by the architect William H. Gee. Uses as sources the invoices submitted by John Gregory Crace to Naylor for the decoration and furnishing of Leighton Hall for the period 1853-1855 and a set of photographs taken of the interiors in the late 19th c. Some of the initial design work for the interiors was done by A.W.N. Pugin in the gothic revival style. Appendix: invoices sent by John Gregory Crace to John Naylor, 1853-1858.
