Abstract (en)

Following a brief history of urban renewal in New York, summarizes currently proposed urban planning projects for Manhattan's West Side, the Bronx Terminal Market, and downtown Brooklyn. Criticizes the projects, proposed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his deputy mayor for economic development Daniel L. Doctoroff, for their insensitivity to community desires, among other reasons.
