Catalogue of an exhibition of works by Frida Kahlo and a selection of complementary works, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, prints, and photographs. Essays by Agustín Arteaga ("Frida Kahlo and her worlds"), Nadia Ugalde Gómez ("The metamorphosis of the image"), and Juan Rafael Coronel Rivera ("The forest of images") elucidate the artist's development and the popular sources she drew upon. The exhibition was based upon an earlier one entitled Frida Kahlo and the popular arts, held at the Museo Mural Diego Rivera, Mexico City.
