Observes from stratigraphic evidence that sgraffito slipware was produced in Castelli (Abruzzo region) chiefly from ca.1470 to ca.1530, after which it was eclipsed by the production of majolica. Delineates the forms of this type of ware and studies the decorative repertory, specifying geometric sequences and ornamental motifs. Also examines the diffusion and influence of this class of ware on pottery production elsewhere in the Abruzzo.
