On documentary and artistic evidence of medieval rock-cut religious architecture in the Puglia region under the control of the Teutonic Knights during the 14th c. (Sites of include Monopoli, Matera, Melfi, Ginosa, Cerinola, Ugento, etc.) Discusses late medieval mural paintings with religious subjects and ornament (including the Knights' coat of arms) in the Cripta del Crocefisso, Ugento.
