Surveys the imported and locally produced medieval and Renaissance sgraffito pottery excavated 1968-1974 at the Palace of Diocletian, Split (Croatia). Focuses on the Byzantine wares, and early 13th-16th-c. Italian pottery from the Veneto region, delineating the ceramic forms and analyzing the decorative repertories utilized. Includes six catalogue entries for 14th-early 16th-c. northeastern Italian sgraffito ware.
