Abstract (en)

Surveys 15th-c. Petrarch manuscripts (several illuminated) in the Civico museo petrarchesco piccolomineo. Focuses on the humanist commentaries (by Francesco Filelfo, etc.) to Petrarch's Canzoniere, Trionfi and on the iconography and ornament of the accompanying illuminations (by Felice Feliciano, etc.). Also summarizes the 19th-20th-c. formation history of the corpus amassed (early 19th c.) by conte Domenico Rossetti de Scander, to which other works have since been added.
