Abstract (en)
Discusses the copies of Italian High Renaissance paintings ordered by Paul Fréart de Chantelou. Chantelou's enthusiasm for copies was not shared by Poussin, certainly if it involved copies of his own work, like the Seven Sacraments series then owned by Cassiano Dal Pozzo. In this case, Poussin himself produced a new series for Chantelou.
